Retrograding out of 2024
to re-ignite our True Nature
I don’t know about you, but I personally felt a weight being lifted when Pluto moved into Aquarius and the Sun entered Sagittarius a couple of days later. Perhaps this is simply due to me feeling at home in the sign of Sagittarius where I have 4 natal planets, but it also felt like a relief after the culmination of the Pluto in Capricorn-energy.
What we believe, we become
With the New Moon in 9° Sagittarius, the energy that takes center stage is Mercury in Retrograde (November 26-December 15). As always a Retrograde points us inward and invite us to paus, reflect, review and refine. Mercury in Sagittarius will be opposite Jupiter in Gemini during most of December, and this opposition creates an heightened energy due to something called a Mutual Reception; Mercury (ruling Gemini) is in Sagittarius, and Jupiter (ruling Sagittarius) is in Gemini. With both Mercury and Jupiter being in retrograde (also strengthening the energy) this puts a big focus on the Sagittarius-Gemini axis.
Jupiter/Sagittarius is about beliefs, freedom, visions and the search for truth, preferably while laughing, travelling and expanding our horizons.
Mercury/Gemini is the witty adaptable intellectual messenger that is collecting, connecting and communicating dots with ease and speed.
Gemini is busy collecting, analysing and communicating observations from the immediate environment. Sagittarius inspire us to make use of our intuition to synthesise the seemingly disparate parts of information to create the bigger picture. This axis wants us to maintain a good balance between the left and the right-side brain. To have faith but keep a critical mind. To ask the questions and search for knowledge while also allow for your inner wisdom to be heard and expressed. To not only observe but also reflect upon the observations. To speak our truth while continue to be curious and listening to the truth of others.
This December opposition is calling us out on our beliefs and inner truth (Sagittarius). Beliefs matter so much, that is what directs our life. “What we believe we become” like C.S. Lewis said. What we believe about ourself and our life, or what we believe about others and the world matters. Do you trust life? Do you fear death? Those questions might sound harsh, but a surprising amount of our decisions, actions, emotions and relations starts from the answer to those questions. We might not always be aware of our beliefs, just as we might not live according to our beliefs. This Mercury opposite Jupiter energy can help us to get to know ourselves deeper, to invite new perspectives, to become aware of the beliefs we still hold on to, that no longer align. We can also get insight on how we can live in greater alignment with our beliefs. This December might give you hints of where you are still not being fully true to yourself.
Level Confusion
Mercury in Sagittarius is also the master of visions and dreams. Do you dare to dream and be a visionary, do you dare to make that dream your reality? While Sagittarius is helping us to envision and expand, squaring Saturn is asking the question “what are you doing about your dreams and visions?”. The Mercury and Gemini-energy is also about our daily routines, we are being asked to embody our visions, dreams and beliefs in choices and everyday life.
I recently bumped into the concept of “Level confusion” that stems from A Course in Miracles. Level confusion is when we mistake the attributes of one level of existence or frequency, for another. An example could be my first session with a clairvoyant where she saw me studying and told me that I would change careers. When I received that message, I perceived it as something very concrete and immediate, I signed up for a 2 days “Start your own business”- course and I was certain that was what she meant. Looking back 20 years later I see that it was my whole journey of Self-discovery she was referring to, which is still ongoing.
Another very common form of Level confusion of which I myself have been very much entangled in, is the “soul-mate confusion”. When we feel that instant attraction and bond to another soul, it is easy to loose grounding and forget to be real about the time-line we are in. No matter how strong and obvious the connection is, it does not always work out on a physical or emotional level in the present. Of course, we will always have the most wonderful opportunities to grow with these kind of relationships, but they can be difficult to let go of. Not seldom some part of us hangs on to that “soul-level dream” that is depending on one or both parties in the potential relationship to change. Saturn is usually the one that orchestrates that cold shower on the dreamer, asking that challenging and boring question; is this realistic?
Sagittarius is correlated with natural law, meaning the universal laws that really is the foundation of the universe and the earth. The Saturn (founder of man-made law) square to Mercury in Sagittarius might also come with questions like;
Where can you let go of control, logic and the linear, and invite intuition, trust and a circular/spiralling movement?
Where does your beliefs not resound with rules, structures and limitations, and how can you make choices to create a life less affected by those rules and limitations?
Re-igniting our desire and creativity
The New Moon in Sagittarius is also forming an aspect called a Grand Trine (in the element of fire) with Mars in Leo and the North Node in Aries. A Grand Trine is when the energy is flowing harmonious (by trining each other) between 3 planets, bringing a sense of wholeness and completion. This might bring an ignition of your life force, passion or creativity or an insight of your purpose or where you want to go next (North Node). Enjoy this energy.
Mars in Leo is not only part of this flowing Grand Trine, it is getting ready to retrograde within a week (Dec 6, 2024 - Feb 23, 2025). Mars goes retrograde once every 26 months, so not as often as Mercury. Retrogrades intensify an already intense Mars. Mars is connected to our will, drive and how we take action, and it also encourage us to stand our ground and maintain healthy boundaries. Mars is courageous and can support us to go for what we desire; it represent our instinct that is driving our journey forward and bringing us to those experiences our soul needs in order to grow and learn.
Mars will start out in Leo and retrograde its way back into Cancer on January 6, meaning that the themes might vary. Mars in Leo feels to be part of an initiation for Pluto in Aquarius with a focus on self-expression, creativity, inner-fire and indivduality. When Mars is active in Cancer it can trigger our points of vulnerability, where we feel unsafe and tender. It can also help us remember or realise how to nourish ourself. All in all this 3 month journey have the potential to make a big impact in our life; opening up to our vulnerability, re-igniting our inner desire and passion, balancing the giving and receiving and grow our self-worth to be true to who we really are.
The year ahead
I am well into energies of 2025 by doing the beloved Year Ahead Sessions (see below). 2025 is the year of the Wooden Snake in the Chinese zodiac (January 29, 2025 - February 16, 2026). The Snake's ability to shed its skin symbolises transformation and renewal, suggesting that 2025 will be a year for personal growth and reevaluation of goals. It is said that the influence of the Wood element adds specific qualities to the Snake's characteristics like growth, creativity, innovation and resourcefulness. The Wooden Snake is also supposed to embody a caring nature while being open to change. The Year of the Wooden Snake is expected to bring opportunities for collaboration and teamwork.
The Wooden Snake feels to be in line with the astrology of 2025 which in short communicate continued transformation and transmutation. The very broad astrological strokes of 2025 is that Neptune will move into Aries (end March 2025) and Uranus will move into Gemini (July 2025). These shifts will make a big impact on the collective energy. In January the lunar nodes (North Nodes and South Node) will shift signs into Virgo (SN) and Pisces (NN), we will experience a Venus in Retrograde in spring and in June Jupiter will move into the emotional waters of Cancer.

We are in the midst of a huge shift that is expected to be intensified between 2024 and 2027. A lot of different prophecies and perspectives, including astrology speaks the similar language. WINTERS SOLSTICE ONLINE GATHERING

To me the sharp contrast between seasons and between the light and the dark is the greatest gift of the Nordics. In the North winter brings us the darkness that carries so much potential. In the light we see what already is, but in darkness we invite the imagination, the voice of the higher self and we create the new. Winter solstice is the breaking point between the light and the dark, a check-in point for aligning with the Earth and the Sun, a time that I always want to honour and celebrate.
Around this time I usually have started to reflect on the year that past, and the year to come, perhaps because I have my birthday in early December. You will be sent some writing prompts beforehand to reflect upon how this 12-month cycle have moved you, and what you imagine for the next cycle to come. For inspiration I will share my intuitive and astrological reflections on 2025, and in a guided meditation/energy transmission we will work with initiating our spirit, soul and body into the energetic core of 2025.
